North Stradbroke Island Day Tour from Brisbane

MINJERRIBAH - NORTH STRADBROKE ISLAND, QUANDAMOOKA COUNTRY

Straddie is the closest big sand island to Brisbane and the easiest to do properly in a day. A 45-minute vehicle ferry from Cleveland puts our vehicle on the island with the group, so the day is spent moving between headland, beach and lake rather than waiting for buses. From June to November the North Gorge Walk at Point Lookout is one of the best land-based whale-watching spots in Australia.

YOUR DAY

6:30 / 7:00am Pickup from Chermside, then the Brisbane CBD, and about 45 minutes to Cleveland.

8:30am Vehicle ferry from Cleveland to Dunwich, about 45 minutes across Moreton Bay.

9:30am Dunwich and Brown Lake. The island's oldest settlement, and the perched freshwater lake stained tea-brown by paperbark.

11:00am Point Lookout and the North Gorge Walk. The 1.2 km boardwalk around the headland: dolphins and turtles below, manta rays in the warmer months, and humpback whales from June to November.

12:30pm Lunch at Point Lookout (own cost) - cafes and the surf club restaurant.

2:00pm Cylinder Beach. Swim between the flags or walk the rocks to Home Beach.

3:30pm Amity Point, for the bayside view back to the mainland and, often, pelicans and dolphins at the jetty.

4:45pm Ferry back to Cleveland.

About 7:00pm Back in the Brisbane CBD, and Chermside shortly after.

INCLUDED

Brisbane pickup and return, return vehicle ferry, a Cooee Tours guide for the day, and bottled water.

NOT INCLUDED

Every passenger must be able to board the vehicle unaided, walk the 1.2 km North Gorge boardwalk (with steps at both ends) and manage soft sand at the beaches. No personal assistance is provided on scheduled departures. Wheelchairs, walkers and other mobility aids cannot be carried on this tour - please contact us before booking so we can arrange a private vehicle and itinerary (additional cost applies).

CANCELLATION POLICY
